Logic were pleased to be involved in a major regeneration project at Teesside University which is only 2 miles away from our headquarters.

Although the regeneration was centred around 2 large buildings, the large area in between these 2 buildings at the centre of the campus was also redeveloped, known as the ‘Campus Heart’. As a result, the entire project has given international exposure to Teesside University and the surrounding area.
The project gave our R&D and Production team a chance to prove what they are made of with the design and manufacture of the Corten Ventilation Sculptures. These 5m tall Sculptures serve a dual purpose, firstly as air ducts into the basement below and secondly, as feature lighting. These were specified in Corten, but the project ran into trouble when BAM Construction could not find anyone willing to manufacture these sculptures, because Corten is a niche building material not available as a structural steel. This challenge was overcome through the forming of Corten plate to achieve full structural stability while meeting the design drawings.
In addition to this, large bespoke seating podiums needed manufacturing and installing which Logic were proud to be involved with.
Fully bespoke furniture was used throughout the project, such as the Corten Sculptures. Another major element of street furniture in our remit was the large seating podiums in front of the library building. Building these presented a significant challenge due to their large size, heavy weight, and tree planters in the centre.
